Our Promise

Custom, never production-line.

A tattoo at Aoi Ink House is never a production-line piece. Every design is a one-on-one custom commission — composed around your body, your skin, and the things you love, so the tattoo you choose today is one you will never regret, never need to cover, and never want reworked.

That is our promise to every client.

  • Composed for your body

  • Made for your skin

  • Designed to last a lifetime

Our Artists

The hands behind the ink.

Four resident artists, four signature styles, one shared obsession with quiet, lasting work. Their freshest pieces drop on Instagram first.

Louisa Yu

Founder & Lead Artist

Singapore's rare Neo-Japanese Traditional — large-scale pieces personally designed and tattooed by our founder.

Louisa’s thirteen-year journey spans three countries — two years tattooing in Shanghai, nine years refining her craft in Canada, and now home in Singapore. She is known for large-scale new Japanese traditional work, and just as at home with anime pieces and small-to-medium Japanese designs. The geisha is one of her most treasured subjects, and her full-colour work spans every classic Japanese motif — each piece hand-drawn around the body’s lines, made to last.

  • Neo-Japanese Traditional — almost impossible to find in Singapore
  • Specialising in large-scale work: full backpieces, full sleeves, full leg pieces.
  • Tattooing since 2013, across China, Canada, Singapore and Australia

Four Styles

Choose your language of ink.

Each style has its own grammar. Every piece is hand-drawn for one client — composed with your skin, your body lines and your story in mind. Never repeated, never AI-generated.

Why Us

Quiet craft, uncompromising standards.

Hospital-Grade Hygiene

Single-use needles opened in front of you, autoclave-sterilised equipment and medical-grade surface disinfection between every client. NEA-licensed premises.

One-on-One Custom Design

No flash walls, no AI-generated drafts — every design is hand-drawn, ten-plus hours for a large piece, around four even for a small one. We compose for your skin tone, your muscle lines and the curve of the placement, so the piece moves with your body and is revised with you until it is right.

Senior Resident Artists

Your tattoo is never passed to an apprentice. Our four resident artists each bring years of dedicated craft — and healed portfolios that speak for themselves.

Inside the Studio

A calm, private room — not a tattoo factory.

Appointment-only sessions in a warm, plant-filled space on Tavistock Avenue. Single-use sterile setups, natural light and time to think — the trust details behind every piece.

Client Stories

Kind words, healed ink.

From first-timers to collectors flying in from abroad — what clients say after the work has settled.

“I searched everywhere in Singapore for large-scale Japanese work and kept hitting dead ends — then I found Louisa. She designed my sleeve like a story unfolding around my arm, and every session felt like watching a master at work. The studio is spotless; everything opened in front of me.”

“Flew in specifically after finding the studio on Google. Tommy mapped a koi across my whole upper arm and it heals more beautifully every month — the scales catch light differently every year. Worth every cent and every mile.”

Daniel K. · Melbourne, Australia

“Fine-line artists are everywhere, but this level of precision is rare. Six months on, my chrysanthemum still looks like it was drawn with a freshly sharpened pencil. Booking via WhatsApp took two minutes.”
